Roads and Maritime Services has completed the 22-kilometre highway upgrade from Nambucca Heads to Urunga.

The project included building two new interchanges at Nambucca Heads and Ballards Road and upgrading the existing Waterfall Way interchange at Raleigh. The $780 million project was jointly funded by the Australian and NSW governments. The project opened to traffic on 22 July 2016.
