AA – Aliphatic Alcohol – Technical Data Sheet

Description

Evenrange AA is a low viscosity aliphatic alcohol blend in an aqueous solution. Evenrange AA is applied to freshly laid concrete to reduce water evaporation during the critical "finishing" period of the concrete, particularly during adverse weather conditions such as high temperatures, high wind, and low humidity. Evenrange AA is not a curing compound; all concrete surfaces should be cured according to AS3600 standards using a curing compound that complies to AS3799 standards (90% curing efficiency).

Application

Prior to application, Evenrange AA must be thoroughly shaken, then mixed at a rate of one (1) part Evenrange AA to nine (9) parts water. Spray to the concrete surface at a uniform rate during the "finishing" process. Finishing of the concrete can continue, as the film formed by Evenrange AA will reform during this process, depending on the amount of surface bleed water present. NOTE: DO NOT OVER APPLY EVENRANGE AA as this can affect the water/cement ratio, causing the concrete surface to become weak or dusty. In extreme wind or heat conditions it may be necessary to reapply.

Application rate

5 m² per litre (after dilution)

Features

  • Reduces plastic shrinkage
  • Totally water-based
  • Will not affect adhesion or aftertrades
  • Gives an improved finish to the concrete surface when trowelled or floated
  • Has no effect on cement hydration process
  • Reduces "stickiness" to concrete tools after finishing

Typical uses

Suitable for coloured concrete, prestressed or precast concrete, roads, bridges, etc. Ideal for use with coloured dryshakes on concrete where extra time may be required to enable placement of stencils, mats, etc. Suitable for wood float, hand trowel or machine finishes.
